Mark McKim

He apprenticed himself for seven years to his older brother, Rollin McKim (the first in the family to work with stained glass and who later opened a gallery in Colorado).  He further broadened his technique and artistic design under the instruction of Lorn R. Marshall (Greenville, South Carolina).

Mark has taken various glass and jewelry workshops and is continuously developing new ideas and techniques. “Learning how to work with blown glass is great”. Through years of experimentation and creative processing, he has developed his own style.  He always strives for perfection in each piece.

Mark opened Elegance in Stained Glass (previously Elegance in Glass), a modest working studio/gallery, in the upper level of the Art Center in the Savannah City Market in 1988.  He is now a consignment artist at Signature Gallery in City Market.

Currently, with the exception of when he is teaching a workshop, Mark can be found in his private studio working on a lovely creation for one of his clients.  He enjoys adding dimension to his glass and metal designs, with the intent of incorporating the peace and balance found in nature.  His goal is to produce art work that meets the client's specific interest and style.

Commissioned items, as well as gallery pieces, can be shipped within the USA.
